A Busy Long Weekend

Here in sunny Ireland (well it was meant to be sunny) it was a Bank Holiday and with the other half on nights this week meant that I had ample time to myself.
I took the opportunity to finish (or try to finish off) some baby quilts that I had started. With the rain falling, I took out my scrap bag my Kona solids and started to make backs for four quilts.

Still have a long way to go before these quilts will be finished off.
When is the next Bank holiday?

Thanks to all that have joined my blog ( Lily's Quilts you are a star!) and all the messages of encouragement. I'm looking forward to reading all the new blogs this week.

  2. Looks like you have gotten a good start on them anyway! My husband goes back to nights in a few weeks and I'm a little excited because it means I'll get more time to sew. Nice to meet you today!

  5. I look forward to seeing photos of the finished quilts. It looks like you've pieced the backing too. I've seen this on a few quilts lately but it's not something I've done before so I must have a go soon.

  6. Your summer comment reminded me of a quote from Mrs browns boys re Noah "So it rained for 40 days and 40 nights, yes? in Ireland we call that summer!" It made me laugh so hard because it's true of the whole UK!
I love the baby quilts with the while - It makes the colours really pop :)

  11. Hi there. Love what I see so far. Lilly's quilts re-posted the button we all grabbed because there was a glitch. Maybe try re-posting the pic.

  12. I love how white makes the colors really pop. I may have to take a white plunge soon. My mom was like that with the scissors too. I have an obsession with them now and own multiple pairs. My son knew not to use the ones with ribbons tied on them for anything but fabric!
