I am back looking through my list of VERY wishful thinking that I was going to get ample amounts of sewing done each weekend....Ahhhh. No! Sorry Sarah...I think I must have just hibernated instead.
I am not even going to embarrass myself in letting you know what I have got done as the list of 'have nots' is so much bigger....
- A Hexagon Quilt (from Fresh Quilting by Malka Dubrawsky) What was I thinking, Let's scrap this as I have never even done a Hexagon let alone making 100 or more.
- A Simple Log Cabin Quilt. Just started this last week
- A Wonky Log Cabin Quilt. (from The Modern Quilting Bee Block Party by Alissa Haight Carlton and Kirsten Lejnieks) Ahh no...let's just scrap that altogether.
- A Swoon Quilt Umm I am meant to have started this with all the other swooners two weeks ago.
- A Windmills quilt (by Moda)
Well I did the HST's quilt instead so does that count?
- A Modern baby quilt (from Fresh Quilting by Malka Dubrawsky) No!
- A Uneven Coin Block Quilt. (from The Modern Quilting Bee Block Party by Alissa Haight Carlton and Kirsten Lejnieks) I have the fabric but ...ah No, not started that yet.
- Finish place mats...all 12 of them. Almost ,just three left to do.
- 3 x A line skirts for myself, (two for winter and one summer skirt when I hit the land of OZ for Christmas) 1 Done but I think I will forget about the others...I'm back from Oz.
- A few mug rugs for practice. No didn't do this.
- Some little dresses for my niece. I still have something to plan for this.
So really I have done very little.
I am currently trying to get some of these finished .... and am getting closer each day!
I am in awe of what sewing others can get done during the week.
I don't think I will ever be able to keep up!
Often I feel like I can't keep up either. What you have made is lovely, so don't feel bad. Just keep working at your pace and make what you enjoy. That's what I am telling myself! ;)
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to keep up with anyone - sew when you can and when you feel like it (hopefully these happen at the same time!) and enjoy the journey! And if it makes you feel any better I'm also failing miserably to tick things off my list!
ReplyDeleteI never feel like I can keep up. Remember that this is a hobby and a hobby should make you happy. Enjoy making, don't worry about finishing! I will repeat this to myself too ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, it is all push yourself isn't it. Stop, relax, do what you can and enjoy it!Stress less, it is to be fun.
ReplyDeleteMy wish list is always bigger than my completed list Erin! There's nothing wrong with dreaming big though - just do what you can - and do what you love. And when sewing becomes a chore - you know something isn't right - sew for you :)
ReplyDeleteThe things you have made are lovely! Life's too short to worry about the things you haven't made :)
ReplyDeleteYou made the wonderful Echo quilt, that would be enough for me!
ReplyDeleteYou were kind of setting yourself up with a billion quilts there though! Winter is only just beginning here, so you will tick off more!
Erin you need to stand in the corner with Helen! I didn't even get around to posting my list and only have one from my FAL list done - I will be joining you in the corner! Quite frankly there are far too many lovely things to distract us....but this is only half way right!?
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to keep up - it's your hobby so just enjoy it when you can!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry.. I am slower than slow too. And I only finished getting the fabric for my Swoon quilt yesterday, haven't even started cutting, and am going out of town to the inlaws house again this weekend, until Mon. .. so I'm not going to be getting any sewing in for a few days! :( I am also in awe of how much people can whip up in what seems like no time at all. It's amazing. Can I just say how much I LOVE those log cabins and the fabrics.. LOVE! xo
ReplyDeleteAll the things you make are beautiful and that's what matters!! :)
