Buzzing over these houses.....

I have been busy making a new home...well two actually.

This month we were asked to make two wonky houses for your Queen bee Agnes in the Modern Irish Bee.

I really found these hard to do and I would cut and then things wouldn't match up....lets just say I don't think I could have made a whole quilt of these...but I am looking forward to seeing these all together in line ...or maybe street to street.

And my Totally Groovy fabric arrived today...happy days
Bung it in the washing machine tonight and it will be ready to cut tomorrow evening...mightn't get to the gym this week..I suppose there is always next week.

Konas...teal, cyan, mocha, zucchini, baby blue
Happy sewing

Purses and Grooving

Nicky and Helen I have you to blame.....

Another two purses made this week.  I am just improvising while I go and just trying out different shapes.   I do want to buy some more frames so maybe I will head over to eBay tonight and see if I can get some more frames.

Then while the Marathon was on today, I did a bit of colouring in....it was very relaxing actually.
I have chosen my fabric for the Totally Groovy quilt along but I now have to decide where my lovely Kona colours are going.  These are my colours that I have chosen with the print being incorporated on the back.  I really can't wait to start this quilt and today probably why I didn't start anything other new quilt tops this weekend. (I don't want too many quilts on the go...4 is enough!)

Kona Zucchini, Teal Blue , Baby Blue, Mocha and Cyan

Now the hard part is to decide where each colour goes.

Option 1

Option 2

Option 3

I am leaning towards option 1...don't know why but then I look at the others and think maybe option 2 is better.  What do you think?

Right better go and finish off my cleaning, I am in the middle of making a wonky house too...my first of two for the Modern Irish Bee which I am loving.

A surprise parcel with little green owls.

On Wednesday...(hey I have been working!) when I got home from my staff meeting (at 9pm) I was greeted by a very VERY big parcel on my kitchen table.

I was really flabbergasted to what this parcel could be..It wasn't fabric (believe it or not!) because that size parcel would attract Custom officers and you don't want those knocking on your door...do you.  No.

Ah I thought....'Could this be my frame purse from the swap 'In the frame purse swap' run by the lovely Nicky and Helen.

So I opened it and look what was inside......
JACKPOT!

My wonderful and very generous partner Christiane from Lake Caillean made me this

I am so in love with my purse...it is cracking.  I love the colours and the shape of it and I have an idea for it already.
and then I opened it.......

WOW!!!!!
It was like Mary Poppins carpet bag.....bottomless .

Did you see all this?

All these yummy chocolates were inside this wonderful, superb, fantastic purse.
Mr T was laughing when I kept taking out the chocolate one by one.

Obviously Christiane you read my hint on how much I love chocolate..
Do you know how hard it was when I opened it at 9pm on Wednesday night, not to open any of these.....I had to keep them for a photo the next morning.
(which my neighbour was looking out the window at me thinking I was a nutter arranging all this chocolate and a purse for some photos.  Don't worry I gave her a wave ....Nosey!)
Now also with all this lovely chocolate, there was a little jar of homemade Chili Strawberry jam to try and I will have to let you all know, it went down a treat for breakfast this morning on my toast.  It's already on the breakfast menu tomorrow morning.

Time to go and get a few bits of pieces done, and stop to have a chocolate with a cuppa......
(I think there will be lots of tea today)

I have finally made my decision on my colours for my Totally Groovy quilt.  I hope to get it started some time next week.  Apart from that I really need to get off this computer now and get a bit of sewing done now.

Now for some sewing....

Now lets hope that I can get down to some sewing..........
A few other things needed, and I have to go through my scrap pile and sort it out.

I was told that I can only take over one of the bookcases.... but  little does he know that I have taken over some of the next cupboard too...but yes I can see now that I think I need to get some sewing done to use up some of this fabric before I buy any thing else.

I also hope that I remember where I put everything.

My new space and why I haven't been sewing.

Over the past few days, I have convinced hubby to let me move all my sewing gear upstairs into the study.....(He really doesn't know what he is getting into!)  Mr T is also having his little space  (can I emphasise LITTLE .) for when he heads back to study part time in September.  Luckily we have a different work schedule so we won't be sewing and studying at the same time.

So a 3 hour trip to IKEA and a few disagreements later,  a good few boxes arrived last weekend and yes over the week Mr T put them together.  A desk and lots and lots of bookcases and cupboards to tuck my hoard of fabric away safely.

I'm not going to have lots of glorious space as others, but I really wanted to get my sewing things organised and not have bits and pieces in the kitchen, lounge, and every nook and cranny around the house.
Last Saturday was spent painting the room ( a last minute decision) so I was hoping that during the week I would move in and have it all sparkling and organised to show.  I was also excited to have my kitchen table and bench back.

Alas it is Saturday again and things are looking so messy up in the spare room that I can't even bare to even take a photo for you to show.

Thanks to the trusty Lyons tea I have made a brew and this is what I will be tackling this morning before I head to Dublin for a night out on the town.

So fingers crossed when Monday comes around I may have a new sewing space all organised.
(the bubbly is in the fridge chilling already)

Enjoy your weekend and those of us that have a Bank Holiday....Enjoy Monday also!
