Blogger's Block of the month at Peach Patch Quilts

I really am stunned when someone asks me to join a group in blog land, especially groups that I have to make a tutorial for.  Ah it's Erin you are taking to here...what can I bring to the table that someone else could do a far better job at?
But alas I have joined (with delight may I say) a new group of very lovely and talented bloggers for a bit of fun and creation.
I have joined up with Dhia of Peach Patch Quilts to her Blogger's block of the month at Peach Patch Quilts
Each month a blogger from the list will make their favourite block
My month is ...if I can remember June next year...
( it seems so far away but I'm sure it will come around quick enough)

Our blocks this month are 'fun in the middle'
(which I am delighted to do as they will be whipped up in no time)
Carin and Carol at Margaret's Hope Chest are putting these block together to make a quilt that will given to girls who have a parent in prison. They will be distributed next year through our 'Wrapped in Hope' program. If you want to donate your blocks to them you can find their address on the blog.
If you want to join in please choose pastel colored fabrics for this project-light pinks, greens, yellows, and blues.
Here are my collection of blocks.

These two are some extras that I am going to send off

My first block for my quilt.
Anyone can join in and make the blocks and you might like to pop over and see our flickr page too.
Hope you come and join us.

No Finish a long this time.....

Sorry Rhonda....I missed out this time.....and look I only had one quilt to finish and I couldn't even do that.

This is how far I got for the 3rd quarter of the Finish Along at Quilter in the Gap

Recovered.

My Totally Groovy quilt top recovered from its mishap with my mocha last week....

I have had to wait all week to get a photo of my quilt....the days are certainly getting shorter and it is far too dull in the evening to try and take a photo. That's not saying I'm not loving autumn....it's my favourite time of the year.

Now for the back......Better get sewing.

I must stop......buying fabric.

I have a horrible habit of swanning around through online fabric stores and oh....before I know it there has been something bought.

BUT IT HAS TO STOP!

These are my latest collection that arrived at the doorstep this week.

Yes you might recognise the bottom blue fabric as my Charm fabric that was bought for the Japanese charm swap that Susan is hosting....When I cut the yard up for the charm swap I was thinking that I would have loved a little bit more in my stash......
OK, well it was on sale and look at the other colours that it comes in ...the grey is really nice  isn't it...how could I resist!

But this is it and if you see me at all putting up any more fabric, please yell at me..I am not aloud to buy any more until next year....yes NEXT YEAR.

Pity as I wanted a Liberty bundle of fabric.....see how it never stops!

I'm a stalker!

Yes it has started and I already have an idea of what I am going to do....
Linen has been bought and some of these lovely fabrics from Cloud 9 collection will be finding its way on my cutting table very soon..

.
I was quite surprised when this bundle arrived last week...I didn't know that they were a heavier fabric but is just what I am looking for...don't you just love it when everything comes together.
(I'm just putting yesterdays disaster behind me...)

Happy Sewing....

Ah *!$&

Can you hear me swearing and cursing from Ireland........I'm sure my neighbours could!

Lesson Number 1.

DON'T CARRY THE LEFT OVER OF YOUR MOCHA THAT YOU BOUGHT THIS MORNING WITH YOUR QUILT TOP.......IT IS ASKING FOR A DISASTER TO HAPPEN!!!!
(I should know better being a Murphy)

Ah *!$&

Yep when I went to take a bundle of sewing downstairs to the lounge I have stupidly spilt the last of my coffee over my strips of my groove quilt.

And I thought I was going so well today...lots of productivity and was so hoping to get the quilt top finished by this evening....(insert curse word here)

Now where is my unpicker?

Grooving along

This is all I got done in the way of sewing this past weekend...This is part of my Totally Groovy quilt.  I thought it would be easy to do and yes it is just a bit of tedious but then I suppose all quilts are.
I am very glad though that I didn't decide to do the king size quilt or I would be still be doing it at Christmas time....(actually I will probably be doing this quilt till then anyway.)

I have been sewing my curves and am so happy that I bought a curve master foot for the sewing machine....I did try a tutorial showing how to sew a curve without pinning the fabric but it didn't work so this is what I did in the lovely sunshine on Saturday.....

And then on Sunday I got cracking on the quilt top.

This is only about a quarter of the quilt....

It needs a good press doesn't it.  I think I need to open the seams....fun and games.

I have been stalling with the sewing of late but it doesn't stop me buying some fabric.

I picked up some of Lotta's new fabric Bella....I have been waiting and waiting for this line to come out.....have an idea of what I would like to do but will wait a while before I start cutting.

and I picked these up from M is for Make this week....I love what Kate has in her store.

This week I need to start cutting some charms for my two charm swaps.
Oh the joys!
